about

A story about curious, orphaned, and innocent vampire children who wonder what it would be like to be loved by parents, only to come face-to-face with fearful adults.

lyrics

We are safe at night
When the moon’s in the sky
We are safe at night
When the stars sail up high

Little vampire hearts
Waiting for the sun to sleep for hours
To feed, to run, to play
And watch the village lights fade

From their cave they could hear music and laughter
The joys of those with beating hearts
They ran down and stuck to the shadows
For a glimpse of what they yearned

We are safe at night
When the moon’s in the sky
We are safe at night
When the stars sail up high

Little vampire hearts
Sneaking through the village streets and alleys
To watch, to learn, to listen
Wishing for parents of their own

As they huddled near windows
They spied on mothers and fathers tucking children in beds
They never knew the feeling of warmth
But there was love beneath the cold

We are safe at night
When the moon’s in the sky
We are safe at night
When the stars sail up high

Little vampire hearts
You’ve been spotted, now the mob is forming
To scream, to hunt, to kill
Run fast back to your hole

With their torches alight full of hate
They search the woods and find your cave
Your flesh burns but there’s no escape
From their fear of the unknown

We are safe at night
When the moon’s in the sky
We are safe at night
When the stars sail up high
